Across Los Angeles, there are hundreds of roadside memorials. Most of us pass them every day without knowing who they're for or what happened there.

I've been thinking about that for years, and recently started documenting them. That turned into ROAMO, a map-based app where memorials can be pinned and the stories behind them can be shared.

The goal is simple: To make sure those lives are remembered, not just passed by.

The app is currently live in beta, with memorials already appearing around Los Angeles and nearby areas.
